The Ivy Crown

Today is Dawn's birthday.  How lucky I am to be married to such a wonderful person!  This bit of poem is from The Ivy Crown, by William Carlos Williams.





The whole process is a lie,
                unless,
                              crowned by excess,
it breaks forcefully,
                      one way or another,
                                          from its confinement-
or find a deeper well.
